Over the years, many patients and students have asked me which books, wellness tools, and self-care resources I personally recommend to support balance, healing, stress reduction, and healthy living.

Below is a curated collection of some of my favorite educational resources, recovery tools, and wellness products that I have personally used, recommended, or found supportive throughout my own journey in Qigong, Chinese Medicine, and holistic wellness practice.

Chinese Medicine Foundations

  • The Web That Has No Weaver -  Ted J. Kaptchuk   
    • One of my favorite beginner-friendly books for understanding Chinese Medicine philosophy and pattern thinking.

  • Between Heaven & Earth: A Guide to Chinese Medicine - Harriet Beinfield and Efrem Korngold
    • Another good primer to understand Chinese Medicine theories for what this medicine is and how it works to heal and support healthy living.

Medical Qigong

  • Dao De Jing:  A Qigong Interpretation - Jwing-Ming Yang
    •  Beautiful interpretation by Dr. Yang of how our Qigong practice teaches us the wisdom of the Dao.

    Emotional Healing & Trauma

    • Why People Don't Heal and How They Can - Caroline Myss
      • Go to book since 1994 for the wisdom it imparts about how to improve self-healing.  Together with Chinese Medicine theories, each time I realize and understand much more for my healing and that of my patients' to help support them.


    • Forgive for Good - Frederick Luskin
      • My signed copy is well worn these days; having taught me how to forgive and how vital it is to move on and empower ourselves to take back our lives and reconnect to the Dao.

      • Don't Forgive Too Soon - Matthew Linn et. al
        • I learned how to have patience and grace with myself, when I was not ready to forgive yet.


      • The Body Keeps the Score - Bessel van de Kolk
        • Classic and essential reading for how trauma affects the body and its impact upon society.


      • Codependant No More  -  Melody Beattie
        • How to break the cycle of losing yourself in the drama of others, and regain a better sense of self by learning to set clear emotional and social boundaries.


      • There is a Spiritual Solution to Every Problem  -  Wayne Dyer
        • An early favorite on how to depersonalize problems and turn it over to the Dao/Higher Power.

      Women's Reproductive Health

      • The Infertility Cure:  The Ancient Chinese Wellness Program for Getting Pregnant and Having Healthy Babies  -  Randine Lewis
        • This book inspired me to go to TCM school, to learn to support other women on their healing journey in this special life phase.  I eventually met the author who signed my copy.  Heartwarming and hope giving.
